PLE Event during NPBW
The education charity, the Citizenship Foundation, has teamed up with the law school, BPP, to launch a new and exciting campaign to encourage legal professionals to volunteer with young people as part of National Pro Bono Week on the 6th – 10th November. We would love to invite you to volunteer and be a part of this campaign.
This public legal education event aims to get as many legal professionals as possible volunteering one hour of their time in their local school over National Pro Bono Week, leading sessions with young people looking at the law around Social Media. Fully comprehensive, high quality materials have been created by the Citizenship Foundation for your use. You will also receive access to a training video to ensure that you feel confident in the classroom environment as well as support being matched with a local school.
This programme aims to increase young people’s understanding of the law, to raise their aspirations and to help them to develop vital employability skills, such as communication and team work. The materials provided are engaging and interactive and look at real life cases and scenarios of people’s online activity, helping young people to understand their rights and responsibilities particularly when it comes to their online activities. For your chance to take part in this meaningful volunteering experience please complete this short form.
If you have any additional questions about the campaign or are interested in volunteering in this programme but are not available during National Pro Bono Week, please do contact Therri Tait at therri.tait@citizenshipfoundation.org.uk.
